About the Zoot Perspective – Austin Zoot

The Zoot Perspective began in 2010, originating as a single blog site. Today, it includes streams from a variety of outlets, focusing on many areas, including news, social analysis, sports, religion, and more.

The Zoot Perspective was created by Austin Zoot, who is responsible for the creation, editing, and posting of all content found on the site.

Austin Zoot graduated from Indiana University in 2014 with degrees in Jewish Studies and Telecommunications. He is currently studying in rabbinical school at Hebrew Union College, where he is pursuing a career as a Rabbi.

Austin’s passion for writing began at a very early age, and has continued through his journalistic career. He was an editor on his award-winning high school newspaper, the Statesman, as well as a columnist for his university paper, the Indiana Daily Student.

An avid Cubs, Blackhawks, and Broncos fan, his sports views have a unique Chicago focus. He avidly awaited the return of a World Series championship to Chicago, and was lucky enough to be at Wrigley Field when that dream came true on November 3rd, 2016.
